Please understand that there are thousands of violins manufactured over the last 150 years that have labels placed inside that might indicate that they were made by famous makers. This is standard practice and not an attempt to defraud, but rather to indicate the model or design of the instrument. Most of these instruments were sold mail order.
Before you contact me with your "valuable" instrument, please review the following web site:

I am always interested in purchacing old violins, but in order to do so, I must, by necessity, purchace at wholesale. If I am to sell at a price that is reasonable to my client and still put food on the table for my family, I have to consider not only the purchace price, but also the cost of parts and the value of my time necessary to put the instrument in saleable condition.
I will be pleased to help you with the identification and valuation of your instrument. Please contact me via the methods outlined on my home page.
Thank you,
Dan Lawrence
