I am pleased to report that my son Jesse is now working full time in the shop. He has a keen eye for quality, able hands for repair and as an accomplished violinist, a trained ear for sound. Striving to provide the best value in a product has led me to offer primarily older reconditioned instruments of German, French and Italian origin. These instruments currently range from about $500 to $15,000. Occasionally I find new instruments that I feel offer extraordinary tone for the price, especially in the newer Asian instruments, and I am pleased to recommend these to my clients. I have recently had the opportunity to offer a line of contemporary Italian instruments, primarily from Cremona. These are made entirely by hand by modern masters as well as young makers still establishing their reputations. Many of these makers are affiliated with the International School of Violinmaking.
